Our CAMPFIRE partner workshop took place this year in Potsdam at the beautiful Lake Templin. Two very exciting days during which our partners explored current developments in the field of green ammonia and developed new paths for the CAMPFIRE roadmap.
Topics included the decentralized production of ammonia including the coupling with water desalination and solar thermal energy, remaining todos for ammonia engines, demonstrators and pilot projects for shipping, new pathways for fuel cells, ammonia logistics and use for the decarbonization of the industry as well as the further development of the legal framework. An important conclusion for us is that the technologies for value chains based on ammonia as a fuel and energy source are at a good level and can be traded safely. However, there is a very urgent need to create acceptance among decision-makers and customers.
