Final report by IKEM as part of CAMPFIRE & TransHyDE: Course for acceptance: Research synthesis on the social acceptance of ammonia as a marine fuel in north-east Germany, 31. March 2025

An excel­lent work of our CAMPFIRE partner IKEM — Insti­tute for Climate Protec­tion, Energy and Mobi­lity on the accep­tance of green ammonia as energy storage and fuel and an effec­tive future commu­ni­ca­tion stra­tegy as a decisive factor for the success of the energy tran­si­tion. A special focus of the study is on the Rostock Port site, which has a parti­cu­larly high poten­tial for the imple­men­ta­tion of ammonia-based value chains in the course of the energy tran­si­tion due to the loca­tion of Yara Inter­na­tional with its exis­ting ammonia import terminal, pipe­line and supply structures.
