Mid-term review at the CAMPFIRE Open Innovation Lab in Poppendorf following the winter break!
With significant support from Yara Rostock, the CAMPFIRE alliance has established a facility—unique in Europe—dedicated to the research and development of large-scale technologies for ammonia as a new energy vector. As part of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s TransHyDE CAMPFIRE implementation project, a total of 32 partners, with €33 million in funding from 2021 to 2025, developed key technologies and research structures in the alliance’s Green Ammonia innovation field: a flexible ammonia synthesis plant, ammonia engines for CHP plants and inland waterway vessels, crackers for the dynamic reconversion of ammonia to hydrogen, and shore-to-ship refueling facilities.
At the Green Ammonia ChemPark Poppendorf, the alliance’s founding companies, CAMPFIRE AG and CAMPFIRE Open Innovation Lab gGmbH, will conduct research and development for power-to-ammonia and ammonia-to-power in an industry-relevant environment together with their partners, and will advance the alliance’s industrial focus by developing new business models for regional companies and their business partners.
We are very proud of what we have achieved and wholeheartedly congratulate our partners and stakeholders on this great accomplishment! Thank you for your ongoing support, reliable partnership, and friendship.
