What an amazing time our CAMPFIRE partner Annalena Braun (KIT), Prof. Hinrich Mohr (GKE) und Torsten Baufeld (Liebherr) had at the CIMAC 2025 in Zürich! We are very proud of Annalena Braun from Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) who gave a brilliant talk on the Ammonia-fueled Cracker-Engine Unit as a Propulsion System for Inland Water Vessels, presenting the amazing work by Liebherr Machines Bulle S.A. , GasKraft Engineering , Zentrum für BrennstoffzellenTechnik (ZBT) and Universität Rostock. Other partners of the project are 2G Energy AG, WB Engineering, FVTR GmbH and INP.
The congress clearly showed that ammonia engines are now firmly moving ahead to enable direct utilization of ammonia as a sustainable fuel for decarbonisation of shipping as well as landside applications.
