Launch of the CAMPFIRE Open Innovation Lab at Yara Rostock in Poppendorf, 25. September 2025

We were cele­bra­ting the opening of the Ammonia-to-Power & Power-to-Ammonia test fields that were deve­loped by the CAMPFIRE part­ners over the past four years within the frame of the flag­ship project TransHyDE.
This is the start of a green ammonia insti­tute joint venture in the metropol region GREATER ROSTOCK that is imple­mented in Poppen­dorf as part of the roadmap of the CAMFIRE Alli­ance by the CAMPFIRE AG and partner rese­arch instu­tites for deve­lo­p­ment and transfer of core tech­no­lo­gies for ammonia as a major future energy vector for decar­bo­niza­tion of the global economy.

This first buil­ding block of the Green Ammonia Chem­Park includes test sites for a 1 MW ammonia CHP, a 350 kW ammonia ICE for inland water way ship­ping, 15–200 kW flexible ammonia synthesis plant and a func­tional model flexible shore-to-ship refue­lung station — opera­tion start in October.
The achie­ve­ment of this major mile­stone for CAMPFIRE & Trans­HyDE is a success of the part­ners of CF06_3, CF08_2, CF10_3 and CF12_1 joint projects.
