CAMPFIRE World Café 2020

In line with our roadmap for rese­arch and deve­lo­p­ment in the region of Northeast Germany, cost-opti­mised produc­tion methods for basic inno­va­tions are being deve­loped and imple­mented. This is a prere­qui­site for estab­li­shing decen­tra­lised synthesis plants that will produce the carbon-free hydrogen carrier ammonia as an infra­struc­ture and storage solu­tion, as well as emis­sion-free propul­sion systems for shipping.

At the CAMPFIRE World Café 2020, held on 2 October 2020 at Ozea­neum Stral­sund, we provided an update on our current acti­vi­ties in the imple­men­ta­tion phase and exch­anged ideas about the CAMPFIRE stra­tegy for green ammonia as a fuel and energy carrier. We also discussed new pathways to a carbon-free hydrogen economy 2.0.

The exch­ange took the form of a World Café that focused on the topics of ship­ping, alter­na­tive appli­ca­tions, central vs. decen­tra­lised ammonia produc­tion and green ammonia as a trans­port solu­tion. After­wards, the parti­ci­pants evaluated new approa­ches for the imple­men­ta­tion of green ammonia to prepare for our next steps.
