Partner workshop of the product category PK1 thin films 10. June 2021

On 10 June, we held our online partner work­shop in PK1 with the topic “Synthesis of Membrane Elec­trode Assem­blies for Medium Tempe­ra­ture Elec­tro­che­mical Ammonia Synthesis and Utiliza­tion”. The focus was first on updates on the results from the ongoing projects CF04_1 “Thin layer based membrane-elec­trode assem­blies for the solid-state ammonia synthesis” and the EU project CF05_2 “HiPowAR EU project — Highly effi­cient powder produc­tion by ammonia total oxida­tion in a membrane reactor” by the project teams. The part­ners were parti­cu­larly pleased with the two keynote lectures by Prof. Michael Stou­kides, Aris­totle Univer­sity of Thes­sa­lo­niki, Greece, on “Ammonia synthesis in ceramic proton conduc­ting reac­tors” and by Dr. Aleksey Yarem­chenko, Aveiro Insti­tute of Mate­rials, Portugal, on “Rese­arch on oxygen-ionic and mixed conduc­ting cera­mics in CICECO/UA: Rese­arch faci­li­ties and recent deve­lo­p­ments”. Further valuable impulses for stra­tegy deve­lo­p­ment and CAMPFIRE project plan­ning in PK1 were provided by presen­ta­tions on “Super­alloy membranes” by the new part­ners Chris­tian Voelter, Tech­nical Univer­sity of Braun­schweig and “Porous metals fabri­cated by Spark Plasma Sinte­ring” by Dr. Abdullah Riaz, Univer­sity of Rostock. After­wards, the approx. 30 parti­ci­pants discussed ideas for the future projects and orien­ta­tion of PK1 in the next phase of imple­men­ta­tion.
