Greifswald, 10 September 2019. There was a lively exchange of ideas at the first meeting of the CAMPFIRE Advisory Board, which was held on 10 September at the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP) in Greifswald. The meeting brought together the members of the advisory board, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the open innovation core team. Dr Angela Kruth, the spokeswoman for the project, began by presenting the general project goals for the implementation of the CAMPFIRE vision. The innovators outlined the planned projects in three product categories: ‘Thin Films’, ‘Production of Green Ammonia’ and ‘Emission-free Maritime Mobility’. Participants then determined the role of the expert advisory board and the rules of procedure before ending the meeting with dinner on the Ryck River in Greifswald. We would like to thank the members of the expert advisory board for their technical suggestions, lively discussion and a successful first meeting.
