CAMPFIRE will participate in three high-profile events this week.
Greifswald, 26 April 2019. Next weekend, CAMPFIRE will participate in the programme for Renewable Energy Day, which is being held in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania for the fifth time. On Tuesday, CAMPFIRE project manager and INP scientist Dr Angela Kruth attended a press conference in Schwerin alongside Energy Minister Christian Pegel (SPD), who presented the programme for the weekend. A total of 50 events will be held throughout the state. Today, CAMPFIRE representatives took part in a roundtable discussion with representatives of state and local politics, civil society and the Fridays For Future movement at Greifswald’s Kulturbahnhof. The event, which was titled Unser Klima, unsere Zukunft – Klimaschutz in Vorpommern [Our Climate, Our Future – Climate Protection in Western Pomerania], was organised by CAMPFIRE partner ENERTRAG AG.
The CAMPFIRE alliance will also be represented at a stand on the Greifswald market square from 10 a.m.–4 p.m on Saturday, 27 April. At the event, members of the alliance will provide information about CAMPFIRE’s plans to develop technical solutions for zero-emission marine mobility, which could become a core element of the economy in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania in the future. Visitors will learn how regionally generated wind power can be stored in ammonia and used in fuel-based systems for ship propulsion. In addition, Sunfire GmbH Dresden will present a fuel cell that can supply power to households. ENERTRAG will present a hydrogen car. Minister Pegel is scheduled to visit at 11 a.m.
